The Urgent Need: A Dedicated Home for PTHS Athletics

In response to the ongoing financial challenges caused by a reduction of more than $16 million in state aid, the Pemberton Township Board of Education adopted the 2024 Strategic Plan to secure sustainable funding for our schools. As part of this plan, the district is seeking long-term support from our community, alumni, and generous donors—both locally and beyond. This vision led to the creation of the Pemberton Township Education Foundation, Inc., established in 2025 to help fulfill that mission.

Pemberton Township High School (PTHS) seeks 5 million dollars in capital funding to construct a dedicated, modern PTHS Sports Complex. For nearly fifty years, since 1976, our athletic program has operated without an on-campus facility, relying on the outdated sports stadium located at the former high school, Helen Fort Middle School. This aging facility requires replacement, but due to New Jersey Department of Education funding regulations for former Abbott districts, athletic facilities improvement funds are unavailable.

What does the PTHS Sports Complex need:
  • stadium to support multi-sport activities (football; track & field; community-based partnerships per BOE approval);
  • home/visitor bleachers;
  • stadium lighting;
  • concession stand;
  • scoreboard, and
  • restroom access.
